Hurray for the Riff Raff announce forthcoming album, The Past Is Still Alive

The Past Is Still Alive follows Hurray for the Riff Raff’s 2022 album, Life on Earth, and was recorded with producer Brad Prepare dinner. The album options collaborations with the likes of Anjimile, Conor Oberst, and S.G. Goodman, in addition to musicians Libby Rodenbough, Matt Douglas, Meg Duffy, Mike Mogis, Phil Prepare dinner, and Yan Westerlund.

The Past Is Still Alive was recorded the month after the loss of life of Segarra’s father, and so they described “Alibi” as “a plea, a final ditch effort to get by to somebody you already know you’re gonna lose.” They continued, “It’s a music to myself, to my Father, virtually fooling myself as a result of I do know what’s finished is finished. However it feels good to beg. A reckoning with time and reminiscence. The music is exhausted with loving somebody a lot it hurts.”
