Bristol production duo Giant Swan have laid out plans for a new EP.
The incoming release represents the pair’s first blast of music in almost two years, and returns Giant Swan to their club roots. As ever, though, this sense of directness and system finesse is blended with a desire to seriously f*ck up existing tropes, resulting in an unwieldy blend of fresh, warped ideas and all-out noise.
New ‘Fantasy Food’ EP is out on January 13th, a five-tracker that follows their recent (debut) North American tour. New pager ‘RRR+1’ leaps out of the speakers, the short, undulating phrasing nodding to techno while existing completely on its own terms.
Blurring genre lines still further, ‘RRR+1’ has an industrial sense of weight to it, one that is in keeping with Giant Swan’s famously unrelenting live shows.
