Fears are mounting for Davido’s son after reports of a drowning incident.
Multiple sources from Nigeria report that Ifeanyi – his son with Chioma – was involved in an incident at the swimming pool in Davido’s Banana Island home. His third of four children, Ifeanyi was thought to have fallen into the pool.
While details have yet to be confirmed, fans have voiced their fears online. Some outlets are reporting that the child has died – these have yet to be verified.

Numerous high profile accounts are showing support for Davido and Chioma. Nigerian music figure M.I. Abaga called it “a dark day” before telling Davido “I pray for your heart and mind this period…”

Many emphasised the inconsistent nature of the reports, hoping to hear some form of salvation for the young boy. Sally Suleiman writes: “We love you Davido, we are praying for your family. We wait to hear from you, till then we are praying for you and your family.”
The Nigerian-American artist helped break the glass ceiling for West African music, becoming a modern icon on the process. His last album ‘A Better Time’ was released to international success in 2020. Davido visited the UK in March 2020, playing some instantly-iconic shows at a sold out O2 Arena in London.
Further details on the nature of the incident are not known. A number of sources in Nigeria have reported that police are questioning staff at Davido’s home.
Davido has yet to comment on the reports.
