This is the first single from Dusty Wright’s upcoming album ‘Dusted Off‘ which features covers of songs from the 1960s and ’70s. Dusty says of ‘Walk on the Wild Side‘ that “This is sacred turf by one of my favorite singer / songwriters / guitarists Mr. Lou Reed. Erik Deutsch’s (The Black Crowes, The Chicks, et al.) simple, yet evocative grand piano perfectly captured the song’s ethos. And Steve Candlen’s drums/percussion/bass created the perfect pocket for my acoustic guitars and vocals.”
It is, as that description hints at, a more restrained rendering of the well-known song of New York Life on the off the beaten track side of the city.
‘Dusted Off‘ will be released on PetRock in the Spring of 2023.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan’s music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That’s not much to ask, is it?
