London riser Connie Campsie has shared her fantastic new single ‘Sucker’.

Out now, the single continues her rise, and follows hot on the heels of previous tracks ‘You’re The Problem‘ and ‘Watching From The Beach‘.

With her deft, assured touch and empathetic streak Connie Campsie touches parts of your heart other artists can’t reach, fusing indie tropes with folkie elements, all bound together by her native pop instincts.

Oscar Lang steps in on production duties for this new single, and we can hear shades of Phoebe Bridgers or Julien Baker in ‘Sucker’. Out now, it’s a song about unrequited love, but deals with this from a fresh angle, with Connie’s lyrical flair standing out from the pack.

She comments…

‘Sucker’ is, at its heart, an unrequited love song. It’s a love song about music as a creative practice. I think of music as the apathetic love of my life: it turns up whenever it pleases, leaves for as long as it wants, and knows I’ll do anything for it.

I suppose ‘Sucker’ is then in essence actually a simp song. I’m the Sucker because I’m saying ‘I’m always going to want you if you’ll please, please have me’.”

Tune in now.
