NYC rap breakout CLIP has shared her new EP ‘PERCEPTION’ in full.

The rapper has enjoyed a stellar 12 months, with her single ‘Sad Bitch’ becoming a viral breakout moment. Speaking from the heart, CLIP is able to blend adventurous production – which often leans on UK soundsystem tropes – with riveting word play.

Recently starring in Marc Jacobs’ latest Heaven campaign, CLIP follows this with new nine track project ‘PERCEPTION’. Deeply autobiographical, the material reflects on trauma – she ran away from home to escape a toxic environment – while pursuing the path of survival, and optimism.

The production palette is heavily electronic, the ravey energies injecting light into CLIP’s ragged tales of truth. She comments…

The songs on ‘PERCEPTION’ are kind of like an introduction to my world. I want to take listeners to a special place – my mind – as they listen to beautiful beats. I titled the EP ‘PERCEPTION’ because I feel like no one really has a correct grasp of the person I am, but my EP will give them a taste of what it really feels like to be CLIP.

Tune in now.
