London based artist cktrl has shared new single ‘love + war’.

The multi-hyphenate is building towards his new ‘Yield’ EP, which is slated to land on October 28th. Continually moving outwards, cktrl absorbs fresh influences on the project, which steers his creativity in some unexpected directions.

Take new cut ‘love + war’. Online now, it displays his empathetic streak, with cktrl channelling the feelings of close friend and collaborator Ophie. A song about love and what comes after, it borrows from soul’s fragmented left-field, jazz, and beyond, pivoting between these influences to build a truly distinct and original voice.

cktrl coments…

“The inspiration behind ‘love + war’ basically came from Ophie having just gone through a difficult breakup. She was at a point where she was trying to come to terms with the relationship being over while still processing her feelings. anger and confusion was just lingering, ‘love + war’ was written from that perspective”

Tune in now.
