bdrmm will release new album ‘I Don’t Know’ on June 30th.

The Hulls-Leeds group blend vintage shoegaze tropes with a fresh energy, resulting in some incredible studio work and live shows. The band’s debut album landed via Sonic Cathedral, and it remains a perennial Clash office spin – a swirling mesh of guitar effects and superb songwriting.

Freshly signed to Mogwai’s Rock Action imprint, new album ‘I Don’t Know’ lands on June 30th. Recorded alongside long-time band collaborator Alex Greaves (Working Men’s Club, Bo Ningen), sessions took place at The Nave Studios in Leeds.

Stripped from the new album, ‘It’s Just A Bit Of Blood’ finds bdrmm easing into a new era. It contains their dreamy fingerprint, but there’s also something raw, direct, and rock-focussed.

The video for ‘It’s Just A Bit Of Blood’ was directed, filmed and edited by Chris Tomsett / Innerstrings. bdrmm’s Ryan Smith comments…

Most people who have seen us tour will recognise this track. The more we played it, the more it dawned on us it was becoming something special, and an integral part of our set.

Lyrically, it stems from my recent mental health awareness. I’d become depressed and very socially anxious, I really felt like I had changed and didn’t know who I was. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by three of my brothers within this band – one literally by blood – and have always been able to be myself with them. It’s about realising what you have and remembering that when you can’t see it.

Tune in now.
