London based hyphenate Alewya returns with new single ‘Let Go’.
A truly unique talent, Alewya draws together the full range of her experiences to find focus in her music. 2021’s remarkable ‘Panther In Mode’ EP fused club electronics with left-field pop, illustrating shards of alt-R&B in the process.
Yet there’s more to this, too. Pulling aspects of her Ethiopian and Egyptian heritage into her work, Alewya is able to impact a remarkable sense of self down on record.
New single ‘Let Go’ severs Alewya from any lingering constructs, a song that serves only its maker. Dynamic and exuberant in its energy flow, ‘Let Go’ pulls away from its anchor, allowing Alewya to drift freely, without constraint.
